Say “Hello” to the LingoHub Translation Editor 2.0 and new Translation Memory
The past few weeks our team has worked hard to revamp the LingoHub Translation Editor. Our goal was to spur productivity and make translation easier and even more convenient. Today we’re excited and happy to share the stunning updates with you.
Here’s a quick overview of the changes being released:
- Online translation editor across all projects with enhanced functionality
- Edit source texts right away
- Highlighted placeholders and HTML code
- Multiple Translation Memories
- Introducing labels
- New filter functionalities
- Enhanced team collaboration
The LingoHub Translation Editor 2.0
Inside LingoHub you’ll see a whole new Online Translation Editor and way to access it. The green “EDITOR” button is now part of the top navigation. You can now use the Translation Editor across all projects or to work on a specific one. Hence you can edit segments of the entire organization or a particular project, ultimately freeing you up to individualize your workflow.
The “EDIT” switcher next to your source language allows you to edit your source text right away. In line with changes in your source text you can update translations. Everything is now at a glance.
To make it easier to recognize placeholders and HTML code in texts we’ve highlighted them. They are now displayed in different colors in the Online Editor.
Also the side panel has been completely face-lifted. Suggestions provided by Machine Translation and Translation Memory are now displayed in the side panel, together with labels, the segment’s description, Multi Editor and Translation History.
Multiple Translation Memories
In line with the Translation Editor we completely revamped our Translation Memory (TM). You can now create multiple Translation Memories, individualize and assign them to a specific project. We've updated our documentation so you find all the updates there. Read more about our updated Translation Memory in our documentation.
Tools like Trello made us love labels to categorize tasks, ideas and more. You can create individual labels for your organization and use them across all projects. Assign color coded labels with names to text segments and use labels to filter and categorize segments.
New Filter Functionalities
The new status checkboxes next to your source and target language allow you to filter text segments by status at the push of a button. By ticking one or more checkboxes text segments matching the selected statuses will be displayed in the Online Translation Editor.
The new “FILTERS” option at the very top of the Online Editor allows you to filter segments by label and/or resource file. General filters allow you to display inactive and/or untranslatable text segments. All segments shown in the Online Editor can be further sorted by the last modification date or ID, ascending or descending.
Enhanced Team Collaboration
You always wanted to know what your teammates are up to? No problem. All collaborators of your organization are now displayed via their avatar at the top right of the Online Translation Editor. To enhance collaboration team members who are currently online are marked with a green dot. LingoHub now also shows you if a teammate is presently editing a text segment making it easier to translate projects in larger groups.
We hope you’re enjoying these updates and all the other cool, minor ones not mentioned in this blog post. We’d be happy to hear your thoughts. Always remember: Be Global, Go Local!
